The bill that has been filed in Raleigh to make school board elections partisan will create unnecessary work in a short time span for Board of Elections staff. They have to verify the signatures independent candidates have to gather to even get on the ballot. The bill in the legislature will force Mitchell County to have partisan school board elections for the first time in history. Where’s the freedom in that?How is that going to do anything positive about politics in our children’s schools?
