On Friday, March 3rd, an on-going investigation, by the Yancey County Sheriff’s Office, into the illegal distribution and possession of controlled substances led to a traffic stop led by Detective Brandon Wilson and Deputy C.J. Wilson. As a result of the traffic stop, Ashley Lyn Gardner of Burnsville was arrested.
During the traffic stop Gardner was found to be in possession of 3.38 oz of Methamphetamine. Gardner has been charged with Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine, Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
“My office is committed to arresting those responsible for the distribution of illegal drugs in our community,” said Sheriff Shane Hilliard.
