Gladys Chrisawn Thomas, age 95, of Cane Branch, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 9th, 2023 at Smoky Ridge Rehabilitation Center. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Roxie Duncan Chrisawn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ed Thomas, who passed away in 2006; son, Gary Dennis Thomas who passed away in 2017 and daughter-in-law, Christine Thomas, who passed away in 2012; brother, Bruce Chrisawn; and sister, Wilma Moore of Glen Alpine.
Gladys loved to sew and crochet. She was a lifelong member, as well as the oldest member, of Crabtree Baptist Church.
Surviving are her grandchildren: Jennifer Lynn Thomas and husband, Robert Richardt, of Houston, Texas, and Craig Thomas of Cane Branch.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 13th at Crabtree Baptist Church. Rev. Chad Wise will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral services at the church.
