Societies are made and shaped by many factors, one of which is economic policy, Intentions regarding society are only shaped by economics to the degree economics is misunderstood and over-emplowered. Implementation of any “programs” of any kind be that implementation well thought out and effective or a mess are often the result of economic forethought or the lack of it in government at all levels. Economic strategies have the power to save lives, enrich whole societies and make fundamental differences to the world-from lowering crime rates in traditionally impoverished areas to expanding healthcare. They also have the power to crush lives, diminish whole societies and make fundamental change in things like crime rates in traditionally impoverished, as well as wealthy areas. Economic policy can reduce the access to healthcare as well as make healthcare proliferate. Economic policy can certainly negatively affect justice systems when economics is seen as the cornerstone of society instead of the tool that it is. Economics is a tool of a society and like all tools can be used for good or bad, selectively or widely, with skill or clumsily. Our current economic performance is one part of our current situation.
