Aaron Gordon (AG) Holtsclaw age 87 of Cook Lane Spruce Pine passed away Friday March 17, 2023 at the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine. Born in McDowell County, NC he was the son of the late Howard and Dora King Holtsclaw. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Scarlett Dale, son in law, Kenny Dale and a granddaughter, Amanda Dale.
AG served his country in the US Marine Corp for ten years, he then retired from Baxter’s after twenty four years of service without missing a day. He was a member and former Deacon and Trustee of the Grassy Creek Baptist Church and he enjoyed Bowling, Golfing, Hiking and Photography. He also was a former Commandant of the Mt. Mitchell Marine Corp League.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife Juanita Cook Holtsclaw of the home, daughters, Cheryl Dale of Spruce Pine and Sandy Wheeler and husband Nathan of Burnsville, grandsons, Adam, Aaron and Jason Dale and granddaughters, Denise Self, April Boring, Amber Lowery, Jordan Ballew and Michaela Owenby. He is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren and one great great-grandson and a son in law Norman Dale.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Monday, March 20, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Grassy Creek Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm with the Revs. Gene Self and Daniel Whitstine officiating. Interment will be in the Grassy Creek Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Sgt. E.L. Randolph Chapter 57 of the Disabled American Veterans.
