On March 9th, MaryLee Yearick From the Blue Ridge Partnership for Children visited Mrs. Katie Boone’s CTE Child Development classes at Mitchell High School. Mrs. Yearick hosted an in-depth training on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome(SIDS) with the students. She discussed contributing factors, preventative measures, and genetic indicators for SIDS. The students learned about best practices for babies’ sleep and play time. Mrs. Boone would like to thank Mrs. Yearick and the BRPC for their collaborative work on educating our future childcare educators.
