Is your sense of perception failing you? You quite obviously are allowed to express thoughts and opinions without fear of being punished by the government. I am a free speech purist who will defend to the end the right of people to say any nutty thing they want. Here’s the thing, though. Everyone else has the right to not pay any attention to what authoritarians are saying that doesn’t make sense without fear of being forced by the government to pretend what’s at the bottom of the rabbit hole on the other side of the looking glass is real. The first Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Try to understand this. Everyone in America should be concerned that there are people who are, in the name of freedom of religion trying to impose their particular religion or perspective on religion on the rest of us. These are the human beings who want to take away our free speech. Wake up. It’s already in America and it needs to stop. The devil didn’t make anybody do this, unfortunately. That would be easier to deal with. It’s our friends and neighbors and we wish they would wake up.
