Doris Louise Harrison age 92, of Lower Hanging Rock Road in Spruce Pine passed away Thursday April 20, 2023, at Smokey Ridge Health and Rehabilitation in Burnsville.
Born in Mitchell County she was a daughter of the late John and Bertha Young Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years Fred Harrison sister, Betty Carpenter and husband Frank and brothers, John Ray Miller and James Miller.
Doris was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church, she was devoted, energetic and hard-working wife and mother. She also was a member of the Beaver Creek Baptist Church Homemakers Club, she enjoyed crocheting, working in her flower garden and cooking for her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memories is her son Fred R. Harrison, Jr of Memphis, TN, daughters, Deborah Willis and husband Harold of Bakersville, Barbara Coalson of Winston Salem and Sondra Stewart and husband Kent of Spruce Pine, sisters, Danna Burnette of Hilton Head, SC and Brenda Burnette and husband Kelly of Marion and brothers, Charles Miller and wife Judy of Norfolk, VA, Jack Miller and wife Rose of Simpsonville, NC and Burl Miller and wife Myrtle of Mauldin, NC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday April 23, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Williams and the Rev. Andy Willis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and interment will follow in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
