The community can now easily access sex offender information for Yancey County. Sex offender information included in the app shows the location where they are registered, a picture of the offender, as well as the crime they have been convicted of. All data in the offender list is provided by the NC SBI.

“I encourage the citizens of Yancey County to download the app. It is a good way to keep up with current information that is put out to the community by the Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Shane Hilliard. “With the technology of today, we want our citizens to have, at the touch of a button, as much information as possible to help keep themselves, their families, and our community safe.”
Not only does the app have information about sex offenders in our area, but it also has current news blogs, immediate push notifications for important information and emergencies, a link to apply for concealed carry permits, a link to set up appointments for fingerprinting, as well as a current list of inmates in our jail.
