In a way I understand how resentful angry people want to drag others into their distorted view of the world. They want company. Gotta’ be a lonely, joyless way to live. And I’ll grant them this, it takes a kind of tenacity to stick with their story despite all evidence that they are seeing things through a very, very narrow lens that distorts their view. It is a sad, sad state, indeed. There is a lot wrong with the world and the country, always has been. Certainly we need to do better and that’s not easy. Wallowing in resentment isn’t helping. Historically a lot of pretty bad choices have been made to elect a lot of guys to offices in this country. They have come from both parties today and from parties that don’t even exist anymore. I’m not a fan of either formal party but in a competition right now I can’t understand why so many angry resentful Republicans keep making big D Democrats look so much more better, or why they think attacking small d democracy is a winning strategy to do that. I guess it must be because the angry folks have become such sheep, so controllable. It’s going to be sad when they wake up one day and figure out they’ve been had. Be prepared, friends, because more and more of these nuts are armed! And so many of them have already been turned against the rest of us. Be careful. They’ve chosen their delusions and anger over their friends, neighbors, and in many cases even their family. So many of their families are so much better people than I am. I think I would have cut them loose and stopped listening to their raving a long time ago. Love is a powerful force I guess.
