Helen Brown, age 79, of Blevins Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 27, 2023. A native of Crossnore, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Virginia Holtsclaw Brown. She was also preceded in death by 4 sisters, 1 brother, and her life companion, Thomas Banner. Helen was a member of Blevins Creek Baptist Church. She loved arts and crafts, Elvis Pressley, keeping a clean home, thrift shopping, baking, window clings, and particularly loved changing her curtains constantly. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Robert Brown (Joanne) and Lynn Brown (Angie); daughter, Anna Ingram (Michael); brothers, Bobby Joe Brown and Mike Brown; sister, Brenda Banner (Alan); grandchildren: Jeremy Brown (April), Melinda Brewer (Chris), Hannah Laws (Cody), Timothy Ingram, Olivia Stamey (Elliott), Sarah Brown, and Chandler Brown; and 3 great-grandchildren. Several other nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Blevins Creek Baptist Church. A private graveside service will be held at Blevins Creek Cemetery.
