Dora “Dory” Honeycutt, age 76, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. A native of Mitchell County, she was a daughter of the late William and Millie Davis Honeycutt. She was also preceded in death by two infant brothers; sisters: Catherine Honeycutt and Madeline Honeycutt Hensley; and brothers-in-law: Lonnie Peterson and Junior Hensley.
Dory, when she was able, loved attending church. She also enjoyed listening to Gospel music, crafts, playing Bingo with her friends at the Mitchell House, and loved everyone she came in contact with.
Surviving is her brother, Jeff Honeycutt of Spruce Pine and her sister, Shirley Peterson, also of Spruce Pine. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A private graveside service will be held in the Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Mitchell House for their love and care for Dory.
