John Austin Hallyburton

John Austin Hallyburton age 25 of the Three Mile community in Newland went home to be with Jesus, Monday May 8, 2023, at the Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville.

Born in Burke County, NC as the son of Robert Vance Hallyburton and Dana Stump Hallyburton. Austin graduated from Avery County High School. Austin loved his job as a diesel mechanic for Pittman Trucking in Newland. He attended Powder Mill Baptist Church. He loved mowing his yard and anyone else’s that would let him. Austin was always looking for four leaf clovers his entire life and it became a fun challenge he and his wife competed in to see who could find the most, which was always Austin. He was always cutting up and joking around with everyone. He loved kids and wanted 12 of his own and enjoyed every child God brought into his life to the fullest. Austin loved animals and wanted to bring them all home with him. He was a very kind and caring person and always had to be sure everyone was okay and taken care of.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife Makayla Elizabeth Clark Hallyburton, his parents, Robert Vance Hallyburton and Danny Carswell of Jonas Ridge and Dana Stump Hallyburton of Morganton. His sisters, Kelsey Blake Stump and her Son Skylin of Morganton, Kadie Hallyburton Turbyfill and husband Tyler and their children Benjamin, Addison, and Paisley of Elk Park and Macy Ray Clark and fiancé Mikey Reid of Roseboro. His second Mama Mary Brown Clark of Newland, his second Dad Darrell Clark and Ms. Fran of Roseboro. Paternal Grandfather, Edward Hallyburton and wife Camilla of Morganton. Maternal Grandmother, Darlene Stump of Hickory. Maternal great grandmother, Grace Reagan of Alabama. Paternal second grandmother, Estelle Carswell of Jonas Ridge. Uncles, Shane and Dustin Stump of Hickory. Cousin, David Hallyburton and wife Jessica of Morganton.

He is also survived by his work family at Pittman Trucking which was his home away from home.
Austin also had many other friends he considered family that are left to cherish his memory as well.
Passed away before him were many family members including: Veronica Hallyburton, Sheila Hallyburton, John Hallyburton, an infant sibling, Robert Stump, Retha Beam, Jay Hallyburton, Janice and Rick Wise and Luther Carswell.

A celebration of Austin’s life will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday May 21, 2023, at the Powder Mill Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Shoupe, Michael Burnop and Adrian Shook officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until the service at the church.

The family requests no flowers but that memorial donations be made to Austin’s wife Makayla Hallyburton at 1124 Three Mile Hwy, Newland NC 28657 to help with medical expenses.

The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to those who have supported and donated money to Austin and Makayla during this time as it has helped in many ways already.
