Look, I didn’t write the post that includes “like the proverb says,” but most people I know see proverb with a lower case p and don’t think about the Bible. They think about the definition of the word “proverb.” It’s a short popular saying, often of unknown and ancient origin, that expresses what is considered a commonplace truth or useful thought. You know, an adage, or an “old saw.” While there are certainly proverbs and Proverbs in the Bible, it is far from the only place you find proverbs, lower case.
