Norma Lou Cook

Norma Lou Cook, age 88, of Recc Drive Bakersville, the Buladean community, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023.

Born on October 6, 1934 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Nell McNeil Street. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son; Alvin Cook; her brother; Gary Street; her sisters; Nola Crisp, Geneva Honeycutt, and Viola Street; and her great grandson; Dustin Cook.

Lou was a lifelong resident of Mitchell County and was a member of Odom’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her son; Roger Cook of the home; her grandson; Christopher Cook of Bakersville; her great granddaughter; Kayla Cook of Spruce Pine; her sisters; Virginia Burleson of Spruce Pine and Ethel Ollis of Bakersville; and three great great grandchildren; Jada, Lexi, and Nova Cook.

A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm in the chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 5:00 pm on Saturday, May 20, 2023 in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Campbell officiating. Interment will be in the Melton Cemetery.
