Friday, May 26th is the Grand Opening of the Riverside Park Splash Pad and restrooms in Spruce Pine. The Town of Spruce Pine has announced the grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held at noon with a free hot dog lunch provided, along with goodies for the kids. The splash pad will be a fun new summer activity for kids and families, and the first splash pad in the Tri-County area. The pad features a dump bucket, spraying flower, and spraying rock, along with many other in-ground features. The water is not recirculated and new water is always flowing thru the system. The pad is handicapped accessible and will be open daily Memorial Day to Labor Day from 10am – 7pm. The new restrooms will be a welcomed improvement, and will replace the current restrooms. The restrooms will be available to use year round and located beside the playground at Riverside Park. The Town invites everyone to come and check out the new improvements and additions at the park. Riverside Park is located at 503 East Tappan Street.
