On Friday evening June 15, Bakersville will celebrate the 76th Anniversary of the North Carolina Rhododendron Festival. Beginning at 10 am, the annual Arts and Crafts Fair will begin the festivities with fun for the entire family, food, and vendors. Music and inflation fun for kids on Saturday. The two-evening 76th NC Rhododendron Pageant at Bowman Middle School Auditorium that will provide opportunities for talented young women to compete for the titles of Queen and Junior Queen of Rhododendron 2024 begins at 7 on Friday and continues Saturday evening. There will be street dances, the largest in North Carolina, both Friday and Saturday featuring the Bandana Rhythm. A car show, the 45th Annual 10K run Saturday morning, and dancing in the street each night.
