Madison County Drive by Shooting

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department says a man has been arrested and charged after a drive-by shooting in Hot Springs early Saturday Morning.

According to Sheriff Buddy Harwood deputies responded to Hot Springs around 1 a.m. Saturday morning about a shooting.

Deputies found a gunshot wound victim walking down the sidewalk in the town of Hot Springs when they arrived at the scene.

According to the Sheriff’s Facebook post, a car slowed down, shot the victim, and then sped off.

Detectives were able to identify and locate the suspect Wilburn Larry Barker, driving through Hot Springs Saturday afternoon.

Harwood says that Barker tried to flee in his vehicle but deputies were able to quickly end the pursuit and arrest him without incident.

Detectives also located what they believe is the firearm used in the shooting, in a wood stove.
