Kenneth Dean Renfro

Kenneth Dean Renfro, age 81, of Connelly Springs, passed away Friday, December 16th, 2022, at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Johnny and Pearl Murphy Renfro.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Lee Renfro, Ronnie Renfro and J.B. Renfro and infant brother, Royce Renfro; brothers-in-law: Ken Ray, Bill Laws and Robert Lee Westall; and sisters-in-law: Brenda Renfro and June Renfro.

Kenneth had a great personality and a wonderful sense of humor, and he could make anyone laugh.  He loved all his family, and will meet them all in Heaven one day.

Surviving is the mother to his children, Elsie Carroll Renfro; six children: Laura Renfro, Kenny Renfro (Wanda), Karen Renfro Byrd (Junior), Tim Renfro (Joan), Mark Renfro (Trish), and Doyle Renfro (Melinda), all of Burnsville; four stepchildren: Sherry Jones (Phil), Danny Hughes (Amy), Cathy McGee (Allen), and Jackie Fitzpatrick (Jason), all of Hickory; eleven grandchildren: Kacie Kisielewski (Paul), Ashley Deyton (Bradley), Julia Renfro (Stephen), Kayla Renfro, Adam Renfro (Sherry), Colson Renfro, Lincoln Renfro, Emily Bradford (Kevin), Rachel Higgins, Misty Renfro and Nathan Renfro; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Keith Renfro (Janet) of Burnsville; and three sisters: Wanda Ray and Betty Laws of Burnsville, and Estelle Westall of Newport News, VA.

A Graveside Service and inurnment will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 4th, 2023 in the Rector Hill Cemetery on Double Island Road.  Dr. Chris Morgan will officiate.
