Rhododendron Festival To Include Pageant, Crafts Fair, Street Dance, Car Show and 10K Run!

On Friday evening June 16, Bakersville will celebrate the 76th Anniversary of the North Carolina Rhododendron Festival. Beginning at 12 noon, the annual Arts and Crafts Fair will begin the festivities with fun for the entire family, food, and vendors. Music on Saturday by the Toe River Drifters, High Mountain Grass, Rock Creek Ramblers, and Susie Soloman and Friends and inflation fun for kids.

The two-evening 76th NC Rhododendron Pageant at Bowman Middle School Auditorium that will provide opportunities for talented young women to compete for the titles of Queen and Junior Queen of Rhododendron 2024. It begins at 7pm on Friday and continues Saturday evening.

There will be street dances, the largest in North Carolina, both Friday and Saturday 8pm to midnight, featuring the Bandana Rhythm. The Shriner’s Rhododendron car show takes place across from Lee’s Café and the Bakersville Fire Department 9-3 Saturday. Don’t forget the 45th 10K run Saturday morning—registration is required.
