Wanda Kay Smith Arthurs Robinson, age 78, of Jennings Road in Statesville passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at her home.
Born on November 6, 1944 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Martin Smith and the late Mae Buchanan Smith Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Arthurs and her step father, Ford Buchanan.
Wanda was a member of the Gloryland Baptist Church. She was a virtuous woman that put her trust in the Lord. She never met a stranger and was known as a giving, non-selfish person that was always reaching out to help others in need. She loved being outdoors, nature, and flowers. She enjoyed taking one day trips.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Wayne Robinson of the home; her sisters; Pat Johnson and husband, Carl of Marion and Beverly Freeman and husband, Joe of Spruce Pine; her nephew; Eric Honeycutt and wife, Michelle of Spruce Pine, who she loved like a son; her step daughter, Deborah Williams of Mt. Ulla, NC; her step son, Todd Robinson and wife, Angela of Oak Island, NC; ten step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.
Graveside services and interment will be on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Tolley Cemetery with Pastor Blaine Keaton and Pastor Dr. Eddie Roland officiating,
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to; Gloryland Baptist Church, 613 Westminster Drive, Statesville, NC 28625.
The family would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care for their care of Wanda during her illness.
