Betty Stamey, age 86, of Pendley Road in Spruce Pine, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Greens of Spruce Pine.
Born on January 29, 1937 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Versie Benfield Pendley. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Stamey who passed away in 2002. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Bobby Pendley and a granddaughter, Lily.
Betty was a member of the Beaver Creek Baptist Church. She sang in the church choir and was the Adult Womens Sunday School teacher. She retired from Lexington Furniture of Spruce Pine. She enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers, sewing and cooking.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters; Jane Greene and husband, Terrell of Spruce Pine and Jennifer Jones and wife, Denisea of Thomasville, NC; her grandchildren; Samantha Price and husband, Derek of Spruce Pine and Matthew Greene and wife, Kirstin of Ft. Mill, SC; eight great grandchildren; and her sisters; Jo Lominac of Spruce Pine, Shirley Hollifield of Spruce Pine, Pat Chamber of Hopkinsville, Judy Honeycutt of Spruce Pine and Carolyn Renfro of Spruce Pine.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 3:000 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Brandon Pitman officiating. Interment will be in the Pendley Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to the nurses and C.N.A’s of the Green’s of Spruce Pine for their care of Betty.
