Forest Service Proposes New Fees

The U.S. Forest Service is proposing six new fees at recreation areas on the National Forests in North Carolina.

This would affect the Croatan, Nantahala, Pisgah and Uwharrie National Forests.  According to the Forest Service, increased fee collections would help to improve visitor experiences and enable the Forest Service to be more strategic in planning and developing a sustainable recreation program and include site and trail maintenance.

The public is invited to comment on the fee proposal through August 22. Visit https://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/nfsnc/recfeeproposals to access our public comment mapping tool and official mailing and email addresses.
