Carol Ann Jones, age 61, of Forest Hill Drive in Spruce Pine, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.
Born on July 30, 1961 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late James Ray and Lillie Mae Butner Letterman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Danny Letterman and a granddaughter, Maggie Rae Young.
Carol Ann attended the Emmaus Road Baptist Church in Spruce Pine. She was retired from Ethan Allen Furniture of Old Fort as the sanding room supervisor and had worked at Ethan Allen Furniture in Spruce Pine until its closure. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, flowers, birds, riding the rail buggy and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her partner of twenty-three years; Greg Young of Spruce Pine; her daughter; Sarah Morrissey and husband, Jamie of Morganton, her son; Bradley Jones and wife, Bridgette of Erwin, TN; Bryson and wife, Erica, and Brannon and wife, Amy whom she considered as her sons; her grandchildren; Caleb, Emma, Asher, Grayson, Corbin, Carter, Evan and many close family members and friends.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Emmaus Road Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Emmaus Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Robinson officiating. Interment will be in the Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
