Let reading take you to new heights this Saturday during the Sizzlin’ Summer Series. On July 8th from 10 am to noon, grab a book from the AMY Regional Library Bookmobile and watch Down to Earth Aerials perform amazing aerial acrobatics.
The event will also feature an interactive presentation where Amanda Finch, Creative Director of Down to Earth Aerials, explains the mechanics, physics, muscle memory, and reading she had to do to become a professional acrobat and instructor. As Finch says on her website, “I like Sharing how fitness and education helped me shape, challenge and develop personal growth… I never get tired of telling everyone about this process.”
A program of Partners Aligned Toward Health, Healthy Yancey is a partnership of concerned citizens working together to improve the quality of health for all people in Yancey County. Healthy Yancey developed the Sizzlin’ Summer Series in an effort to increase connections between neighbors and people, increase physical activity, and create fun ways to play and be active in our community.
