Louise Perkins

Louise Perkins, age 93, took her last breath on earth surrounded by loving family and her first breath with her Lord and Savior on July 8, 2023.

Born on February 12, 1930, Louise was the daughter of the late Oscar Murdock and Texie Gouge Murdock. In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by sisters Jennie Murdock Grindstaff and Virgie Murdock Gouge, and brothers George Murdock and John Murdock.

Louise graduated from Bowman High School in 1948 and married Junior Perkins on December 17, 1949. After a few years away, they returned to the family home on Rebels Creek, where they have lived for 67 years. Louise was a member of Ledger Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until failing health prevented her from doing so.

Surviving to cherish her memory are Junior Perkins of the home, son Bruce (Kay) Perkins of Bakersville, and daughters Kathy (Mack) Hoilman of Green Mountain, and Debra (Randall) Barnett of Bakersville. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Michelle Lord of Bakersville, Crystal Benson of Bakersville, Kevin Hoilman and Toni Hensley of Green

Mountain, as well as four great-grandchildren: Nicole Hensley, Zoe Lord, Tyler Hensley, and Samuel Benson.

Her church family of Ledger Baptist Church, many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

Visitation for Louise Perkins will be on Tuesday July 11, 2023, at 6:00 pm, at the Webb Funeral Home Chapel, with the funeral to follow at 7:00 pm with Brett Hoilman officiating. Graveside service and internment will be at Rebels Creek Cemetery on Wednesday July 12, 2023 at 10:00 am.

The family would like to thank the staff of Smoky Ridge Health and Rehabilitation for their care for Louise for the past two years, and the staff of Blue Ridge Regional Hospital for their care for her and the family in her final days.
