The Yancey County Public Library has put out the following notice about tonight’s meeting:
IMPORTANT UPDATE!!! Meeting: Yancey Library July 11 at 5 p.m.
Please read the information below before coming!!
Yancey County Public Library, Regional Director Amber Briggs and the library’s Board of Trustees appreciate all the support we have received, especially at the commissioners’ meeting last night. Residents are very interested in their library and keeping it in the Regional System. A meeting with commissioners is planned for this evening, July 11, at 5 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room at Yancey Library.
Although we appreciate your interest and support (and we can use some again tonight) but space is limited at the library. This is a public meeting and due to open meeting law requirements we must try to accommodate those interested in attending. If too many people show up, the meeting will have to be canceled. We are currently working to provide sound outside the meeting room for those who can’t fit into the space.
This meeting is being held at the request of commissioners to discuss the benefits of being part of the Regional System as well as state/local library policy.
Thank you in advance,
Amber Westall Briggs, AMY Regional Library Director
Jody Higgins, chair of Yancey Library Board of Trustees
Wayne Edwards, Yancey Library Branch Manager
