We’ve got a special Parkway Playhouse and Carolina Mountains Literary Festival collaboration on the calendar! One of our selected playwrights for our upcoming Appalachian Playwriting Festival, Kyle R. Thomas, will be joining the CMLitFest line up for a hands-on writing workshop called: Page to Stage: Adapting Existing Works for the Theatre on Friday, September 8th from 9-11:45 am here at Parkway Playhouse.
The Carolina Mountains Literary Festival is a festival that takes place annually here in Burnsville, in various locations around town. This festival focuses on the work of critically acclaimed and academically noted writers from around the region. This year, events will happen September 7-9.
In this class, writers will explore works that were successfully (or unsuccessfully) adapted to the stage and take a deep dive into what material makes a great fit for the theater. Authors of all genres are welcome! |
