Twenty nine nonprofit organizations are the recipients of multiple fundraising efforts by Mountain Air residents. The Mountain Air Community Fund has awarded over $190,000 this year. The 2023 grantees are Appalachian State Parent-to-Parent, Appalachian Therapeutic Riding Center, Boy Scouts Troop 502, Carolina Mountain Literacy, DARE, Dig-In, ECU Dental School, Feed-A-Child, Full Steam Ahead, Habitat for Humanity, High Country Caregivers, Learning Shack, Little Hands Learning Center, Mayland Community College, Mountain Piecemaker Quilt Guild, M-Y Life Center , Parkway Playhouse, Partners Aligned Toward Health (PATH), Pisgah Legal Services, Project Dignity, Southern Reconciliation House, Toe River Project Access, TRACTOR, ,WAMY Community Action, Yancey Animal Advocacy, Yancey County Literacy, Yancey County Schools-Mtn Heritage FBLA, Yancey County Schools Band Program and Yancey Humane Society.
