And remember to remember that the state of this country is not declining in every way, is not declining or rising equally for everyone, and the situation is not “caused” by one person or party in the short term, as attractive as that simplistic narrative is for some people to sell or buy. Some folks are doing just fine. Some are doing just fine at someone else’s expense. Some are suffering terribly. And some are thanking or blaming people who don’t have much to do with anything but this stupid divisive party loyalty.
