Bernice Robinson Norris, age 86, of Dale Road in Spruce Pine passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 at her home.
Born on February 17, 1937 in Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Lee and Vernon Weatherman Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Norris; her brothers; James and Charles Robinson and her sisters; Mona Radford and Jeannie Segell.
Bernice was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church. She enjoyed singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed reading, writing and working in her flowers before a period of declining health. Throughout her life, she helped many people in need. She also loved her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of sixty-nine years; Bill Norris of the home; her daughter; Debora Buchanan and husband, Randy of Burnsville; her son; Jim Norris and wife, Jan of Spruce Pine; her grandchildren; Jimmy Correll and wife, Brandi; Ashley Welborn and husband, Ryan; Deanna Wellman and husband, Josh; Jennifer Teasley and husband, Jay; Bailey Huskins and husband, Cole; McKenzie Norris; Lakin Ayers and husband, Dustin; Dakota Norris and wife, Keri; and Lawson Norris and wife, Philicia; ten great grandchildren; and her sisters; Lucy Kates and Barbara Gauthier.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Faith Fellowship Church. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Monday, August, 14, 2023 at Faith Fellowship Church with the Rev. David Gillespie officiating. Interment will be in the Gus Young Cemetery.
