The president, any president, is not responsible for the price of fuel. The world market price is the largest factor, more so than even the variable state tax rates which are much, much higher than the federal rates and which continue to rise. Fuel taxes in NC go into the Highway Fund for maintenance and operations or state roads in the Highway Fund and fund capital needs through the Highway Trust Fund. Don’t just do the math, tell the story.
