It is almost October and everyone knows what that means – Spruce Pine BBQ and Bluegrass festival! The best bbq in the south will be served October 7, from 10 am – 6:30 pm downtown Spruce Pine in Riverside Park. The address is 305 Tappan Street on the Toe River. Sponsoring this 12th annual festival is the Rotary Club of Spruce Pine along with local businesses who have generously supported us for the past 12 years. There will be something fun and delicious for everyone: bbq vendors to delight your tastebuds, along with Pelican snowballs, ice cream babbles, wicked good pretzels, super snack shop and much more. Activities include a cake walk, corn hole, ducky race, inflatables, face painting, and more. We have our own local blacksmith, Grant Sparks of Sawbriar Metal. Music is what makes a festival and the line-up is: Jody & Mark from 10 – 12, Scott Mckinney from 12 – 2, Barrett Davis from 2 – 4, Randy Flack from 4 – 6. We have a great day planned so come out and join us. Low admission price of $5/person with kids 12 and under free.
Rotary supports so many local non-profits along with Mitchell County Schools. Please come spend Saturday, October 7 with us and experience local flavor. For more information go to our website: www.sprucepinebbqbluegrass.org.
