Katie Ellis age 36 of Spruce Pine passed away Wednesday September 6, 2023, at the CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville.
Born in Mitchell County, she was a daughter of Kevin and Tamara Ellis. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Doris Ballard, Philip Ellis and Judy Ellis.
Katie attended the Grassy Creek Baptist Church and worked as a waitress at the Anchors Away Café. She really loved her dogs and was a Ford Mustang fanatic.
Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Tamara Ellis of Bakersville, father, Kevin Ellis of Burnsville, her son, Hunter Jones of Spruce Pine, husband, Adam Stewart of the home, brother, Dylan Ellis and wife Erica of Bakersville, sister, Ashley Ellis of Bakersville, nephew, Sawyer Ellis and niece, Zoey Ellis. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins and a whole family of friends.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ms. Katie Ellis will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday September 30th at the Grassy Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathan Silver officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial donations be made to the Mitchell County Animal Rescue at www.mitchellcountyanimalrescue.org/donate.
