Mike Yelton, age 73, of George McKinney Road in Bakersville, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 at the James A. Quillen V.A. Medical Center in Johnson City, TN.
Born on February 11, 1950 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Joyce and Frances Edwards Yelton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers; Albert Ray Yelton and Larry Dean Yelton.
Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from Baxter Healthcare where he had worked in the Maintenance Department. In his spare time, he loved building things, riding his trike and going to car shows.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of twenty-three years; Freda Fisher Yelton; his son; Heath Yelton and wife, Danna; his daughter; Kim Yelton; his stepdaughter; Michelle Mashburn and husband, David; grandchildren; Scarlett Yelton, Sawyer Yelton, Tayla Wood, Sage Wood, Charles Mashburn, Gabriel Mashburn and Abigail Mashburn; his brother; Ralph Bryson Yelton; his sisters; Beulah Gardner, Dimple Neal, Marty Buchanan and fiancé, Terry Urlich, Linda Ramos and husband, Juan and Shelia Sparks and husband, Allan; and his sisters-in-law; Loretha Yelton and Clara Jean Yelton.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home.
