Stephen McKinney, age 66, of Spruce Pine passed away on Tuesday, September 6th, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A native of Avery County, he was a son of the late Dorothy McKinney. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Lora McKinney.
Surviving is his wife, Tammy Carpenter McKinney; sons: Cody McKinney (Kittie Gentry) of Hot Springs and Jesse Gage of Spruce Pine; daughter, Jenny Daniels (David Daniels, Jr.); granddaughters: Page Daniels, Shyian Gage and Shilah Gage; sisters: Gloria Freeman and Janis Reel (Leroy); special aunts: Carolyn McKinney and Flo McKinney.
Services will be held from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 16th at Powdermill Baptist Church with Rev. John Cope and Rev. Michael Burnop officiating.
