Pearson Riddle, Jr., age 101, of the Pensacola Community, went to his Heavenly Home on Monday, September 18th, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 15th, 1921, he was a son of the late Pearson Riddle, Sr. and Gladys Hamby Riddle.
Also preceding him in death is a son, Mark Riddle; a sister, Irene Hyatt; brothers: ER Riddle and Vance Riddle, and a brother-in-law, Ned Wilson.
Pearson was a World War II POW, the last living civilian of Wake Island in the South Pacific.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife, Wanda Presnell Riddle; his daughter, Melynda Rose (Randolph Whitney) of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren: Jackson Rose and Alexis Rose; sister, Margie Wilson of Pensacola; sister-in-law, Norma Burnette (Kelly) of Low Gap, and brother-in-law, Paul Presnell of Marion.
Family and friends are invited to drop by their home at 86 Pearson Road on Pensacola between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 15th to celebrate both his 102nd birthday and his life. The memorial will begin at 2 p.m. with the Sgt. E.L. Randolph Chapter #57 D.A.V. providing full military honors in their family cemetery.
