Registration is now open for the 2023 Workshop for Dementia Caregivers & Friends – Understanding and Living with Dementia! Registration Deadline – October 20th. See below for details.
Workshop At-a-Glance:
** Topics include information about normal aging versus dementia, recognizing changes in the brain and adapting caregiving strategies, caring for the caregiver, resources available, legal and safety concerns, and plenty of time for questions and answers. Lunch will be provided.
** Date: Wednesday, November 1, 2023 ~~ 10:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. (come early at 9:30 for coffee and to browse the resource tables)
** Location: Burnsville Town Center, 6 South Main St., Burnsville, NC 28714
Registration: Pre-registration required by October 20th so we can better plan for handouts and lunch.
** IMPORTANT NOTE TO FAMILY CAREGIVERS & FRIENDS: If you need assistance with respite care for your loved one in order to attend this workshop, please let us know when you register. Also, if you are only able to attend part of the day, please register and stay for as long as you are able.
** TO PROFESSIONALS WORKING IN DEMENTIA CARE: While this free workshop is especially for family caregivers and friends, we understand there are many in the community whose jobs involve caring for and working with families living with dementia who also want to attend. We encourage to register, and if there is not enough space to have a seat for all family caregivers & friends plus professionals, we will organize a separate workshop just for those whose employment relates to dementia care. Please be sure to register and mark the box about being employed in a dementia care field so we can gauge the need for a separate workshop.
