The thing that’s scary to me for our great experiment in democracy, our country, is how a currently TOTALLY dysfunctional party became the low bar for a well meaning but currently less dysfunctional party to jump in order to look functional when they are not. I don’t know anyone looking forward to the 2024 election but political operatives and trolls, especially those who will make a buck off it or who think they can amass some power out of it. The rest of us have to engage, however reluctantly, if we want anything of this great experiment in democracy to remain for these wonderful young people around us. Sometimes it doesn’t seem worth it, but they are worth it. They are always worth it. ALL of them.
