Kennedy is considering running as an independent because no matter what the rules are he has more support among Republicans and various special interests outside of the Democratic Party than he has among Democrats. Challenging the rules now as “corrupt” is a campaign tactic, an excuse, not news. Primary rules in both parties have never, ever made sense to me, but they were never designed to. Can’t tell your rogues without a scorecard, never could. Just be careful about who is printing and paying for the scorecards you are reading. None of this is new, not really.
