So are you telling us that new board members are supposed to know every room in the library? Is it wrong to ask for a tour of the building? Anyone would want that, some people just want something to complain about. It’s logical for them to ask questions and get clarification on things. Wanting background checks and vetting for ANYONE coming to the library that’s around kids is smart. And I’m sure they want to keep some people in check so we don’t get a drag queen story hour for kids coming to the library, which I’m sure if not checked would be next in line. Come on now, let’s not lose our logic in our emotions.
What the people want is an apolitical, non agenda of any kind library, like it used to be. A library is no place for politics. Period. And before you argue pride isn’t political, know the facts… PRIDE always has been and still is a political movement.

“Since its beginning, Pride has been a political event. And although it may feel like a party today, protests have always been embedded in its very reason for existing. Pride has always been a protest against unjust systems, even when it’s lighthearted and fun.“
Where are gay or trans people excluded from any space? That inclusion argument is just ignorant and divisive. Get real!
