Having “sympathy” for lives lost while accepting and assuming everyone accepts, must accept, that somehow any place always has been and always will be a place of horror for the people who live there is disrespectful of humanity as a whole. Especially when it’s not accurate. Always is a long time. It’s not a hard concept, really. Shrug. Thinking beyond this us-and-them mentality that seems to be running rampant in some circles isn’t all that hard even if you don’t want to be involved in the fight or the conversation.
