Tuesday evening, October 24 a woman was struck by a vehicle on Hwy 80 South in Yancey County. According to eyewitness reports, two women were arguing when the one woman ran out into the road and into the path of a Toyota truck. The woman was taken to Lower Browns Creek and airlifted to Mission with serious injuries. Police inspected the Toyota truck and did not find any issues that could have contributed to the accident.
