Complexity

Actually, any simplicity seen in the election process is a well crafted illusion. A person works, sees a problem in government they would like to try and fix, and then they find out how much money and free time they have to have from their work and then don’t run for office. Can’t afford to. They don’t get get elected because the money folks have to back them or give them a job they don’t actually have to do in order for them to be able to run. Then their “influence” pays the bills. Their constituents never get to vote for them if they don’t make that deal with the money folks. While our government was never intended to have career politicians or be an oligarchy. Breaking that up is not going to be simple at all. The concept you present is simplistic and not part of the country in which we live. Wish it was, but it is not and trying to make change believing it is will likely be dangerous to those working people and constituents without money or it is being sold to them as a simple solution that it’s not.
