Mitchell County will be opening the license tag office soon. The County Manager and County HR are is in the process of doing interviews to hire staff to operate the office.
Once all the staff has been hired they are required to be sent to Rocky Mount to complete training. When their training is completed the office should be open by December 6th in the current location, which is 11889 NC-226, Spruce Pine, across from the Pizza Hut.
In the spring the office will move to where the Sears building was in the same shopping center.
