Veteran’s Day is Saturday November 11th. Mitchell County will celebrate with a special event on Wednesday, November 8th at Mitchell High School. The public is invited for coffee and donuts in the school library at 10:30 am, followed by the Veterans program in the gymnasium from 11:15 to 11:45 am. Barbecue lunch will be served in the school library following the program.
In Yancey County events are scheduled beginning on the Yancey County Courthouse lawn at the Veterans monument at 11 am on Saturday the 11th. That will be followed by the Rotary Club flag event on the Burnsville town square at noon.
