Spreading Fear via Rabbit Holes

If the story about cults in the sixties, even ones run by maniacal people like Charlie Manson trying to start apocalyptic race wars, and linking it to California’s stance on the death penalty was conversation or comment from a single individual on a little rural radio station opinion forum it might be a stretch to say it was about spreading fear. It might be an interesting conversation. But when that story is one that resurfaces time and again at the bottom of rabbit holes seeded by folks looking to start various kinds of apocalyptic wars or use the fear of them, it’s not a stretch to go there. Maybe trying something new would be more interesting, but this one? Anyone alive then was horrified by the Mason cult and how he gathered his followers and committed unspeakable crimes.
