Freddie Dewitt Reno II, age 75, of Bald Mountain passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023. A native of Monroe, LA, he was a son of the late Freddie Reno I and Gloria Holtzclaw Reno. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gwen Cruse and a son-in-law, Ron Platero.
Freddie was employed with the state parks for over 20 years. He enjoyed duck hunting, collecting coins, watching old western movies, and his pet labrador retrievers. Freddie adored and loved his family.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 56 years, Vicki Reno; sons: Tim Reno (Dena) of Midland, TX and Chris Reno (Kate) of Wake Forest; daughter, Melissa Platero of Garner; and grandchildren: Christopher, Bryan, and Ashley Platero, and Bryce Reno. Also surviving are many friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 25th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services.
