Frances Wise Woody, age 92, of NC 181, the Jonas Ridge community, formerly of Fairview Church Road in Spruce Pine passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at the home of her daughter.
Born on May 10, 1932 in Canton, OH, she was the daughter of the late Jefferson Taylor and Grace Keene Wise. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Woody.
Frances loved God and put him first and foremost in in her life. Frances loved taking care of her family and spending time with them, particularly her grandchildren and she also loved taking care of others in her community. She also enjoyed working with her cows.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters; Grace Woody of Jonas Ridge, Connie Silver and husband, Richard of Burnsville and Delinda Woody of Lewisburg, WV; her son; Dennis Woody and wife, Cindy of Spruce Pine; her brother; William Wise of Kentucky; her sister; Lucille Hull of California; her grandchildren; Jeffrey Ledford and wife, Kelly, Chad Ledford, and Tamara Fowler and husband, Hugh; her great grandchildren; Tyler, Eli, Quila and Ransom; and her great great grandchildren; Sam, Raylan and Jameson.
Graveside services and interment will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery on Bent Road in Spruce Pine.
