The Beacon Center of Spruce Pine Open For Shelter From Cold Weather

The Beacon Center of Spruce Pine is preparing for about 3 Code Purple nights this week.  (Monday, 11/27 – Tuesday, 11/28 – Wednesday, 11/29.

The Center opens at 6:00 pm each evening for anyone that is without heat and is cold and has nowhere to go.  They provide cots, blankets, warm drinks and refreshments.

Anytime they are open, the Code Purple flag will be flying in the church yard at the Spruce Pine United Methodist Church, 11090 NC-226, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.  (That is next door to the Spruce Pine Town Hall – across from the Cruz-Thru)

The Beacon Center’s Services are free and open to all who need an overnight warm place to rest.
